Football Magic - VIP Reception

Football

As he thought, Buddy came to stand beside the grandfather of his two sons, John. It had been just over a year since Buddy's mother, Lucy, passed away. Her death had Jarred the young boy, causing him to rethink his priorities in life. In that instant, the thought of leaving behind his beloved football had haunted him; but, at that very moment, John had assured Buddy that he would be there to support him for as long as he lived. With that assurance in his voice, and having witnessed Buddy takes his first steps toward manhood, John believed that the time was right for John to start making his bid to become a football coach at the high school where his son attended.

John and Buddy continued to train for months, even years, in preparation for their moment in the spotlight. This would be Buddy's big break and one which his family would go to great lengths to ensure. "You better be ready," said John's father, "or you're never going to see this football field again." This was to be Buddy's last hurrah as a boy, and his family knew it. That, however, was not the reason they were preparing Buddy for this momentous occasion.

For over two years prior to this important day, the three men had been quietly preparing for this day. At the time, John Davenport was working as an assistant football coach at Salisbury University, and Curt Mack was a student trainer at the University of Maryland. During that time, the three had come up with something miraculous.

They had discovered that using giant glue and a type of paste called "pom elmer" could bring Buddy's news Singapore football magic to life. With the help of these two simple tools, they used these two everyday products, along with various powders and pastes, to create a piece of inflatable foam. The "pom-elmer" powder and the glue were blended together, while the football magic sponge and "pom elmer" paste were combined, form a large sponge which they placed over Buddy's head, and then held it there. The "pom elmer" paste, which they call a "spongy dome", is what actually creates the magic.

This discovery was a tremendous boon to Buddy's football career at Salisbury University, and it would also open the door to his future in football, as an assistant coach at Maryland. And when Buddy was selected first overall by the USFL's Houston Texans in 1982, it marked the beginning of a legendary career in the National Football League. Buddy was so excited about this event that he gave his football training partner an earful of advice. "This is the best day of my life," he intoned. And indeed it was. The Salisbury University Students for Life group that had worked so hard to make this day possible were finally rewarded when Buddy returned from his triumphant trip to Houston and was named the Outstanding Student Professional of the Year.

As you can see, football is a magical sport. If you ever get the opportunity to witness it live, I guarantee you will be in awe. Watching it on DVD makes it even more incredible. So why not take advantage of this marvelous sport and purchase a football DVD, either to watch it again today, or to share with friends and family, perhaps as the very first book in your very own VIP Reception Guide.
